Birthplace of Dracula (Vlad the Impaler)

This house was the birthplace of Vlad Tepes (also known as "Vlad the Impaler", or "Vlad Dracula") in 1431. It is now a restaurant called "Casa Vlad Dracul". It is right on the main square of the citadel of Sighisoara, at Str. Cositorarilor 5.

The 13th century Catholic and later Lutheran church on the hill above Sighisoara hosts many valuable old murals and a preserved Romanesque crypt.
